Just as their predecessors have always done in the past, today's entrepreneurs of the Landes area analyse, develop a vision, innovate and invest to build their region's future. Under their impetus, forestry and the wood industry are developing and modernising, inventing and applying new techniques, and perfecting new products that are designed for both the present and the future.
Thus, through the efforts of the local people and the industrialists, the Landes de Gascogne forest is now confidently fulfilling its three essential roles:
-
ecological: ensuring the health and balance of the area's ecosystem
-
economic: providing jobs for the region and the added value that ensures its future
-
social: the forest is a place of life, economic activity and rest, relaxation and leisure.
