Gascogne partner of Angoulême international comics festival
Gascogne provides a 100% PEFC certified Natural Kraft paper bag originating from sustainably managed forests to this festival held from 24 to 27 january.
This naturally environmentaly friendly bag is printed using water-ink.
Perfectly biodegradable and recyclable, it is highly resilient and reusable several times.
Available in French and English, this website aims to present the division's products and markets as well as environmental questions.
Aside from information about the division and its production process, it highlights sustainable development and innovation matters in its different sections.
In order to fight against preconceived ideas, several educational messages towards general public about the benefits of Kraft paper illustrate different pages of this website. They explain for example, why by using natural kraft paper, you are being kind to the forest !

Papeteries de Gascogne (Paper division) changes its corporate name and becomes
Gascogne Paper.

Gascogne Paper and Gascogne Sack are participating in the French printing and graphical communication federation's (FICG)
« l'environnement, c'est durablement imprimé » (sustainable printing for the environment) campaign.
This promotion, which will close at the Angoulême festival in March 2008, is based on a comics trip project to explain the environment-related improvements already and yet to be made at each stage in the graphics chain. The six stages identified are : forestry management, paper manufacturing, paper recycling, ink manufacturing, pricing and distribution.
Gascogne has manufactured 60,000 100 % PEFC-certified Kraft paper bags, a green packaging solution (printed using water-based ink, highly resilient and reusable several times), for the Salon du Livre (book fair). These bags are being distributed by a large number of booksellers in France with all purchases of the new Luuna comics trip album.

Cenpac, Gascogne's packaging distribution business (products and services), has adopted a new logo and a new « Packaging Solutions » signature.
